The Y–axis (the vertical axis) of the graph can control number of particles, visibility, percentage, etc. Those lines that don't have a parameter to the right use the graph below the list, select those lines with a single left click. true to false, or to bring up a window to change the information. Those lines that have parameters to their right can be double left clicked to either change the parameters, i.e. effect file has been opened, there will be a list of specifics to the left. To have different positions or multiple positions for emmiters you'd need an emmiter that emits other emitters, or animation controls on the emitters position. For multiple start positions use the sphere and line emitters - Range and orientation controls to mess with the shapes. No size, life, or creation methods are the most common reasons particles don't show up (forgeting to turn off Force single particle can be an annoying one too). Please feel free to add information about how to use the Apollo Effects Editor here.
